2004 Jeep Liberty Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2004 Jeep Liberty?
A: To start servicing the blower motor resistor, disconnect the negative battery cable and keep it separated for two minutes to keep the air bag system from going off by accident. Pop open the glove box door, then pull back the lock that covers the wire harness connector on the blower motor resistor block. While pressing the connector's latch, take it out of the resistor block. Get rid of the two screws holding the blower motor resistor block in place in the HVAC housing and remove the resistor block. Remove the blower motor resistor block from the access panel and set it inside the HVAC housing, fastening it with the two supplied screws which should be tightened to 20 in. lbs. Put the wire harness back onto the blower motor resistor block, push down the lock on the connector, close the glove box door and then close the negative battery cable.
