  A: First, turn off the air bag system in vehicles with air bags by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable for two minutes. Turn off and leave the blower motor off for at least five minutes before you finish the installation. Access the blower motor resistor by pulling open the glove box door and pulling on the lock of the relevant wire harness connector. Push down on the connector and pull the wire harness out of the resistor. Take out the two screws holding the blower motor resistor to the HVAC housing and remove the resistor. There are two screws to use when placing the new blower motor resistor into the HVAC system and tighten them to 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.). Rebuild the cable from the blower motor resistor by plugging it into the wire harness connector, locking the connector, closing the glove box and finishing by linking the negative battery cable.
