2005 Chrysler Pacifica Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor Resistor on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Begin by switching off the air bag system on vehicles with air bags by detaching and separating the negative battery cable. Wait at least two minutes for the capacitor in the air bag system to release the charge. Let the motor sit for five minutes before turning it on again-otherwise, the resistor can get too hot and get damaged. Removing the resistor first is not recommended; you could damage your vehicle if you turn on the blower motor. Start by taking the negative battery cable off and taking the glove box out of the instrument panel. After that, remove the wires from the blower motor resistor, loosen and remove both screws connecting the resistor to the HVAC housing and remove the resistor. Stand the new blower motor resistor in the HVAC housing and hold it in place using the two screws and tighten them to no more than 17 in. lbs (2 N.m) pressure. Replace the connections between the two wires on the blower motor resistor, insert the glove box and lastly link the negative battery cable.
