2006 Chrysler Pacifica Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before servicing the blower motor resistor on a vehicle with air bags, turn off the air bag system by removing and isolating the negative battery cable, then wait two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to discharge. Before returning to the resistor, give the blower motor at least five minutes to cool down, as it can heat up pretty quickly. Don't turn on the blower motor if the resistor is out, lest it damages the vehicle. The first step is to remove the negative battery cable and take out the glove box from the instrument panel. Following that, separate the two wire harnesses from the blower motor resistor and remove the screws holding the resistor to the HVAC housing. Put the new blower motor resistor into the HVAC housing and connect the two screws, fastening them so they are tightened to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). Secure the two wire connectors to the blower motor resistor, place the glove box back in place and then hook up the negative battery cable.
