2005 Dodge Dakota Brake Line Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Should You Service and Repair a Brake Line on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Usually, a preformed metal brake hose is chosen, but double-wall steel tube can be used for urgent repairs when new factory parts are missing. To make an ISO flare, you need an ISO flaring tool kit. First, cut off the damaged part of the tube with a Tubing Cutter and then clean out any small razor-like edges inside. Following this, install the tube into the tube nut and place the tube into the flaring tool, with top flush to the bar. Apply pressure to the tool bar screw while installing the suitable size adaptor on the flaring tool yoke screw and coat the adaptor with a lubricant. After that, put the adaptor and yoke screw over the tube and screw in the yoke screw until the adaptor is firmly held by the tool bar.
