Start the repair by bringing the vehicle up on jackstands, then lock the parking brake cable. Relax the front cable by releasing the nut and afterward, remove the front cable. Press down the pipe end at the mounting bracket and extract the cable from the underbody. Attach the cable to the line and, with the body grommet, pull it away from the slate. Reduce the car above the jack stand and, with a small screwdriver, push the ball end of the cable out of the pedal clevis. Clamp the cable fitting by the pedal bracket and take out the cable. Get rid of the sill plate and left cowl trim, then pull back the carpet to take out the body clip cable. Put the cable end fitting into the hole of the pedal assembly while you are in the car. Then, set the cable retainer into place on the assembly. Attach the cable ball end to the clevis on the pedal assembly, pull the cable under the floorpan and fit the grommet through the hole in the body structure. Lay the carpet down and fix the left cowl trim and sill plate into place again. Set the vehicle back up, put the cable beneath through the proper bracket and rest the cable end on the bracket. Do the park brake adjustment and attach the wire to the cable adjuster before moving the vehicle down.
