2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee HVAC Pressure Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an HVAC Pressure Switch on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: If you need to service the refrigerant pressure sensor/switch, remove and isolate the negative battery cable as your first step. Then, unpair the wire harness connector from the HVAC pressure switch that's on the A/C discharge pipe. Remove the HVAC pressure switch from the fitting on the A/C discharge line and throw out the O-ring seal. When installing, make sure to use the O-ring made just for R-134a and the required A/C compressor oil. Clean a fresh rubber O-ring seal with refrigerant oil and fix it to the fitting of the discharge line. After that, install the pressure switch onto the A/C discharge line. Seal it tightly so that it does not move. Next, plug in the connector from the wire harness to the HVAC pressure switch and finally wrap the negative battery cable around the meantime nut.
