2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Blend Door Actuator for Single and Dual Zone Driver Side Systems on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
    A: The air bag system must be turned off by removing its negative battery cable before doing anything to the air door actuator or motor on either single zone or dual zone driver side systems. Remove the instrument panel silencer from the driver side, then disconnect the blend door actuator's three screws on the driver side of the HVAC air distribution housing. Take out the actuator and separate the HVAC wire harness connector. When placing the blend door actuator in the vehicle, position it to the driver's side while ensuring the actuator output shaft matches the location of the blend door cam. Turn the screws to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.), then attach the HVAC wire harness connector, put the instrument panel silencer back in place and attach the negative battery cable last.
