2005 Jeep Wrangler A/C Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Switch on 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Service the control assembly by turning off the air bag system in vehicles that have air bags by disconnecting the battery negative cable and waiting two minutes. First, remove the glove box on the instrument panel, then take out the center bezel. Open the glove box and unclip the harness between the two halves of the A/C-heater control vacuum harness connector. Then, take out the two screws joining the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel and pull the control out to look at the connections on its rear. Take off the three connectors on the A/C-heater wiring harness and pull the control unit from the instrument panel. When installing, hook up the three wire harness connectors to the A/C-heater control, fit it onto the instrument panel and attach the retaining screws by tightening them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Connect the A/C-heater vacuum harness into the glove box aperture, set the glove box in place and again attach the bezel to the front console. Make sure to attach the negative battery cable.
