2005 Jeep Wrangler Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To work on the blower motor resistor, begin by disconnecting the negative side of the battery, waiting about two minutes and only then working on the resistor. Stay away from the area of the blower motor and resistor block, as it may overheat and never use the blower motor with the resistor block taken out. Take out the glove box from the center of the instrument panel first. After that, release the lock on the wire harness connector and press the latch to remove it from the blow motor resistor. Take out the two screws holding the blower motor resistor block in place within the HVAC housing and remove the block. Place the blower motor resistor block into the HVAC housing and attach it with the two screws. Tighten the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Put the wire harness connector back onto the resistor block, push in the lock on the connector and then put the glove box back in place and connect the battery negative cable.
