2005 Jeep Wrangler Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Blend Door Actuator on 2005 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step is to disable the air bag system on cars with air bags by cutting off the battery's negative cable for two minutes. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blend door actuator electrically first. After that, remove the three screws attaching the blend door actuator to the HVAC housing and take the actuator out. Attach the actuator to the mix air door by fitting the splines on its output sleeve with the corresponding splines on the mix air door linkage. First, set the rings to bring the actuator tightness to 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Second, link the HVAC wire harness connector to the actuator and, lastly, hook up the negative battery cable one more time.
