2006 Dodge Dakota Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Rear Outboard Seat Belt and Retractor in a Club Cab on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: Inspect each seat belt, buckle, support, retractor, tether and anchor in the rear outboard seat of your Club Cab to check for proper installation, smooth operation or any damage, then replace anything broken, mend twisted belts, tighten loose fasteners and find any replacements in the Daimlerchrysler Mopar Parts Catalog. To remove, take off the upper section of the trim cover from around the outside rear seat belt area, then press the tab to open the screw part of the turning loop. Release the screw that holds the seat belt turning loop to the upper C-pillar and remove the turning loop. Take off the inside trim on the C-pillar upper section, shift the inner lower trim slightly and remove the screw that holds the seat belt anchor in place on the floor. First, open the seatbelt and take out the lower anchor, latch plate and turning loop from the trim of the lower C-pillar and save the trim for now. Detach the screw that holds the retractor to the inner C-pillar, lift the retractor to free its tab from the T-slot and pull both the rear seat belt and retractor out of the car. Pick up the rear seat belt and retractor and fit it to the inside C-pillar, making sure the tab is in the T-slot. Tighten the securing screw to 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs). Thread the seat belt, lower anchor, latch plate and turning loop into the clearance holes in the lower C-pillar trim so there is no twist in the webbing. Fit the lower anchor in the floor mounting hole and tighten its screw to 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs). Put back on the lower and upper trims inside the C-pillar, place the seat belt turning loop in the mounting hole on the upper C-pillar and tighten the securing screw to a tension of 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs). Move the tab from the front edge of the trim cover into the bracket below the screw and then push the front of the trim cover over the top of the turning loop.
