2006 Jeep Commander HVAC Pressure Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service an HVAC Pressure Switch on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: First thing in repairing the HVAC pressure switch is to take out and isolate the negative battery cable. After that, separate the wire harness connector from the HVAC pressure switch found on the A/C discharge line. Take the HVAC pressure switch out of the fitting on the A/C discharge line and throw away the O-ring seal. Only use the specified rubber O-ring for R-134a and the matching oil recommended for the A/C compressor during installation. Lubricate a brand-new O-ring seal with refrigerant oil and slip it onto the fitting of the discharge line. After that, place the HVAC pressure switch on the A/C discharge line and secure it tightly. Join the wire harness connector to the HVAC pressure switch and then attach the negative battery cable to its clamp.
