2006 Jeep Commander A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Condenser on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: Recover the refrigerant from your A/C system, detach the negative battery cable and then you can remove the condenser. After that, get rid of the grille, air filter housing and air inlet tube, but make certain the hood latch is still connected to the radiator crossmember. After that, pull out the upper radiator crossmember and its bracket and move or remove the power steering fluid cooler, as the job requires. Separate the lines between the automatic transmission cooler and the transmission fluid cooler and either put plugs or put tape over the cooler line fittings and cooler ports on the transmission fluid cooler. Unhook the A/C hose from the condenser, unscrew the drier mount from the radiator bracket or fan shroud and then remove the other tube X from the drier and into the A/C condenser. With the four bolts out, lift the A/C condenser out of the engine area. For A/C condenser replacement, add the recommended refrigerant oil, in a quantity of 30 milliliters, to the refrigerant system during installation. Set the A/C condenser in place and tighten the four bolts by hand until they reach 5 N.m. Also, install the receiver/drier into the A/C condenser and tighten the fitting screw to 5 N.m. Then, secure the A/C condenser to the radiator, attach the receiver/drier's inlet tubing to the A/C condenser and tighten the connection screws to 5 N.m. Reconnect the A/C discharge line and screw the automatic transmission cooler lines into the fluid Installing the new power steering fluid cooler allowed the team to also fit the upper radiator crossmember, support bracket, air filter housing, air inlet tube and grille. Hook up the negative cable, empty the refrigerant system, put fresh refrigerant in and check that the transmission fluid is adequate.
