2006 Jeep Commander A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an A/C Hose on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: First, pull out all the refrigerant in the system and then detach the negative battery cable before starting A/C discharge line service. Remove the grille, air cleaner housing, the air intake tube and resonator out. Then, take off the A/C discharge line nut, let go of the line from the compressor and throw away the dual aircraft seal. After that, take out the nut holding the A/C discharge line to the condenser, separate the line and throw away the dual plane seal. Put plugs or tape over the uncovered fittings on the discharge line and on the compressor and condenser ports before taking off the A/C line from the engine area. For fitting, put the A/C discharge line into the engine compartment and remove the tape or plugs from both the discharge line fittings and the A/C compressor and A/C condenser. Polish the dual plane seals using the proper refrigerant oil and then attach them to the A/C discharge line using only those seals intended for your R-134a system and the directed refrigerant oil for the compressor. Put the A/C discharge line onto the A/C compressor and fasten it with a nut, making sure the force is 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.). Follow the same steps for the A/C condenser, tighten it with a nut to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.). Replace the housing for the air cleaner, the air intake tube and the resonator with the grille sitting last. Attach the negative lead of your battery, remove the refrigerant from the system and pump new refrigerant into it.
