2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service a Blower Motor on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before servicing the blower motor, disconnect the negative battery cable, isolate it and allow the air bag system capacitor to drain for two minutes in automobiles that come with air bags. Take out the instrument panel silencer from the passenger side of the dashboard, then tackle the glove box. Remove the blower motor wire harness plug (1) from the blower motor power module or resistor (2). Take out the three screws under (3) to detach the blower motor (4) from the HVAC housing (5) and remove the motor. Insert the blower motor (4) into the back of the HVAC housing (5) and attach them with the three screws (3), making the screws tight enough to reach a torque of 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.). Connect wire harness connector 1 to resistor or blower motors, install the glove box, attach the instrument panel silencer onto the passenger side and at last, connect the negative battery cable.
