2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder Before Installation on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: A new brake master cylinder should be bled by pumping bleed tubes and moving the pistons with a wood dowel. Making bleed tubes from brake line is possible. First, fix the brake master cylinder in a vise and connect the bleed tubes to the outlet ends of the cylinder. Insert the bottom of each tube into the reservoir and then add fresh brake fluid until the fluid level reaches just above the "MAX" line. Push down on the cylinder pistons with the wood dowel and let go and the pistons will recoil on their own. Keep mixing the solution until you cannot identify any more air bubbles.
