  A: Before beginning any service on the Air Bag Control Module, first cut off and separate the negative battery cable. Give the system two minutes before opening the door to prevent the reserve capacitor from releasing air bags which could endanger your health. Reach underneath the front edge of the passenger side front seat cushion and take out the lock pin on the connector lock tower in the Occupant Classification Module. Following that, drill or unplug the wiring connection for the Occupant Classification Module passenger-side seat. Open the passenger side of the vehicle and remove the two screws that keep the Occupant Classification Module connected to the bracket. After that, pull the module out from beneath the passenger front seat. If any of the original factory-installed parts, except the Occupant Classification Module, have been changed, the only way to service the OCM is by fitting a new passenger front seat cushion like for like from the entire service pack. Also, when using this system, change the Occupant Classification Module first and test the air bag System for at least a minute with the ignition on, before changing the Occupant Restraint Controller.
