2007 Chrysler Pacifica Clock Spring Parts and Q&A
Q: How Should You Prepare for Installing a Clock Spring Assembly on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Make sure that the Clock Spring Assembly installation begins with the front wheels pointed straight ahead. Keep the rotor (6) and case (7) still and, holding the rotation roller (1), slide the Clock Spring (7) down toward the steering wheel from above. Guide the three pins on the lower part of the Clock Spring rotor hub into the three holes in the turn signal cancel cam hub, checking that the highest pin which is shaped as an oblong, fits in the oblong hole along the other side. Place and secure the one pin and the two mounting ears from the Clock Spring case into their matching holes in the multi-function switch mounting housing. Tighten screws (5) that hold the Clock Springs to 2.5 Nm (22 in. lbs.). Put the two instrument panel wire harness connectors for the Clock Spring (7) into the receptacles underneath the steering column on the back of the Clock Spring. Fasten the upper and lower column shrouds (3 and 6) and attach the lower tilting one to the multi-function switch housing with a screw. After trying a Clock Spring with a new lockspring, remove the plastic pin that holds the Clock Spring rotor to the case. First, attach the steering wheel to the steering column and later put the driver air bag onto the steering wheel. The negative battery cable must not be connected, since failure to do so could lead to injury or death for occupants. Close everything at the end when you are finished.
