2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Washer Pump on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: To start the service, open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Slide a trim stick (special tool #C-4755) or another instrument underneath the wiper arm nut cap, lift it up and remove both the wiper arm nut and nut cap. Take the arm off the pivot by moving the crank arm up or down while in an over or centered position. After that, remove the cowl cover on the right by disconnecting the rear engine compartment seal at the cowl and removing the four push clips on its right side. After stripping the water, take the water filter out and unscrew the three screws beneath the reservoir. Raise the washer reservoir from the cowl area and pour the water inside into a bucket. First, get the pump out of the plastic strap, then pry it away from the reservoir without damaging it and finally, slide the rubber grommet off the reservoir.
