2007 Dodge Nitro Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Does the Evaporator Affect Refrigerant Oil Level Adjustment in A/C Systems on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Before beginning servicing the A/C refrigerant, make sure to check and modify the oil level so that the A/C compressor does not get damaged. Should the EVaporator be your only replacement, add only 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil that is recommended for your vehicle's A/C system compressor. Whenever there are repairs to a refrigerant line, you should replace the related O-rings and gaskets in order to prevent future leaks. Be sure to put the rubber seal for the evaporator tubes and tapping block correctly inside the HVAC housing opening. When removing, slide the rubber seal onto the evaporator tubes and tightly against the tapping block. See that the foam insulator is put in place around the A/C evaporator within the HVAC section before attaching both components to the lower section. Later, fit and attach the outer enclosure of the HVAC unit. If you are changing the evaporator, add another 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil or use the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart for a combination of replacements.
