2008 Dodge Nitro Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How Does the Evaporator Influence Refrigerant Oil Level Adjustment in A/C Systems on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: Refrigerant oil must be adjusted while working on the A/C system to keep the process safe and avoid damage to the compressor. When you replace more than one A/C system part, look at the Refrigerant Oil Chart to determine the right oil amount to use. Should you be changing just the A/C evaporator, use 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of the right refrigerant oil. Make it a rule to change the O-ring seals or gaskets every time you need to open a refrigerant line to stop leaks. Correctly adjust the rubber seal for the evaporator tubes and tapping block so it fits well inside the HVAC opening. If you remove the tubing, install the rubber seal on the evaporator tubes and on top of the tapping block. Make sure the foam insulator is snugly located around the A/C evaporator within the HVAC housing before slipping in the evaporator and foam insulator into the lower portion of the housing. Combine all HVAC housing parts and apply the HVAC housing assembly. If the evaporator is changed, pump 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil into the system and when replacing several parts, look at the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart and use the oil which is right for the vehicle's A/C compressor.
