2007 Dodge Nitro A/C Expansion Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is an A/C Expansion Valve Installed in a Cooling System on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Eliminate the tape, plugs or similar devices covering the ends of each refrigerant line, evaporator tube and expansion valve port to install the expansion valve. Coat fresh O-rings with clean refrigerant oil and place them onto the R-134a A/C system's refrigerant lines and evaporator fittings. After that, mount the A/C expansion valve onto the evaporator tube tapping block using two bolts and tighten them to a torque of 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). After joining the A/C suction and liquid lines to the expansion valve, put the nut in place and tighten it to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). At last, attach the negative battery cable, release all the refrigerant and fill up the system again.
