Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose for 3.7L/4.7L Engines on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: For HVAC hose/line maintenance on these engines, separate and isolate the negative battery cable prior to work. First remove the refrigerant from the system and afterwards detach the grille, air cleaner housing, air intake tube and resonator. After that, unscrew the nut that holds the A/C discharge line to the compressor, disconnect the line from the compressor and take out and throw away the dual-plane seal. Remove the nut that holds the A/C discharge line to the condenser, take off the discharge line and throw away the dual-plane seal. Install plugs in or tape over the opened fittings for the A/C, compressor and condenser, then take out the discharge line before removing it from the engine.
