  • Q: How to Safely Detach the A/C Accumulator from a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
    A: Before you take out the A/C accumulator, unhook and separate the negative battery cable and then recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. After that, detach the grille and remove both the air cleaner housing and air inlet tube. Detach the nut holding the A/C liquid line into the A/C accumulator, then remove the liquid line from the accumulator and throw out the dual-plane seal. Remove the screw connecting the A/C accumulator to the radiator and fan shroud and then remove the nut connecting it to the A/C condenser. Take the accumulator off the A/C condenser and throw out the dual-plane seal. Afterward, tape over or install plugs in the accumulator fitting, the port and the condenser port.
