2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain the A/C Condenser to Prevent Compressor Damage on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: During servicing of the A/C refrigerant system, ensure the refrigerant oil level is adjusted so as to not harm the A/C compressor. In the event only the A/C condenser is changed, add 30 milliliters (1 liquid ounce) of recommended oil to the refrigerant system. Whenever you open a refrigerant line for maintenance, you should always replace the seals and gaskets. Correctly put the radiator and condenser air seals in place for the best work of your A/C and engine cooling. Set the A/C condenser onto the radiator and use four bolts to secure it, making sure the tension is set to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Attach the A/C condenser to the receiver/drier inlet tube and screw the receiver/drier in place along the radiator and fan shroud, tightening to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Then, link the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser; pull off or cut any tape or stoppers from the automatic transmission cooler line fittings and fluid cooler ports and attach the lines from the cooler to the transmission fluid cooler. Put in the power steering fluid cooler and if you have the 3.0L diesel engine, also add the charge air cooler. Set the upper crossmember in place, along with the support bracket, then the air filter housing and inlet tube and end with the grille. Replace the negative battery cable, empty the refrigerant from the system and if an A/C condenser was exchanged, attach the proper refrigerant oil. Next, top off the refrigerant system and check that there's an adequate amount of automatic transmission fluid.
