2008 Dodge Dakota Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Front Center Seat Belt on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before you install any seat belt in the center front, inspect its belt, buckle, mounting hardware, retractor, tether strap and anchors to be sure they are undamaged and ready; also, replace damaged or torn belts, straighten twisted ones, tighten loose fasteners and use Mopar(R) online catalog parts to replace if any of the buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchor plates are broken. Start by threading the front center lower seat belt anchor under the side trim of the center seat cushion. Slide the slack part of the front center seat belt and its tip over the face of the elastic strap on the center seat cushion. Make sure you connect the seat belt lower anchor to the center seat support bracket from behind the passenger seat, with the anti-rotation tab fitting into the corresponding hole. Screw in and tighten the lower anchor to the center seat support bracket up to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm). After that, return the immediately right-side front outboard seat to its back position.
