2008 Dodge Nitro A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Service and Repair an A/C Hose in a 3.7L Engine on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: While handling the A/C refrigerant system, be sure to level out the refrigerant oil to keep the cooling system functioning correctly and save the compressor. Should multiple A/C parts be replaced, turn to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart for help in selecting the right amount of oil. Whenever you remove a refrigerant line from a system, also change the seals and gaskets to avoid leaks. Remove all taped or plugged pieces from the discharge line connections and both the compressor and condenser ports. Following this, clean new rubber O-ring seals with new, add them with clean gaskets to the discharge fitting and tighten using the appropriate O-rings and refrigerant oil recommended for the system and the A/C compressor. Set aside the A/C condenser toward the left to provide clearance and link the A/C discharge line to it, followed by screwing a retaining nut loosely onto it. After you've moved the A/C condenser, attach it to the right side of the radiator using a bolt tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.) before tightening the nut securing the A/C discharge line to the condenser to 22.5 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Attach the grille, join the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor and tighten its nut to no more than 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Replace the housing for the air cleaner and join the negative cable from the battery. Get rid of the refrigerant, adjust its oil and add more if necessary.
