- Q: How to Service and Repair a Blend Door Actuator on 2008 Dodge Nitro?A: Remove and isolate the negative battery cable to disable the air bag system and then wait two minutes until the air bag system capacitor is spent. When the air bag is disabled, it guarantees that the system is not active in case of error and so accidental deployment is avoided. If there is one, remove the silencer beneath the driver side of the instrument panel next. Take the wire harness connector off of the blend door actuator near the driver side of the air housing. Lastly, take out the two screws holding the blend door actuator to the actuator bracket and then pull or slide out the actuator.
