2008 Dodge Nitro A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove an A/C Condenser on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: Before taking out the A/C condenser, make sure to unhook and isolate your battery's negative cable. Get rid of the refrigerant from the equipment. Then, take out the engine air cleaner housing. After connecting J3 fully, use the approved A/C line disconnect tool (such as Special Tool Kit 7193) to take out the secondary clip and remove line 1 from the condenser tube (2). Lift off the grille. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, pause the transmission cooler lines directly from the A/C condenser's transmission cooler unit. Move the right side condenser air seal to one side so you can reach the discharge line fitting and the lower condenser retaining bolt, adjusting and tilting the line to get it free from the condenser. Unfasten nut (4) from pipe (5) which connects the A/C discharge line to the condenser and take off the discharge line. Loosen and unlock both bolts (2) that hold the A/C condenser to the radiator (1) on the right. Use care as you lift the A/C condenser straight up and away from the radiator, so that the condenser mounting brackets release and you can pull it from the car. If you need to, remove the A/C receiver/drier from the A/C condenser. After coating both parts, dispose of the O-ring seals and gaskets and cover or tape over the removed lines and the access ports of the condenser and receiver/drier.
