2008 Jeep Commander Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor in the B-Pillar on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: Disable the SRS before starting, tear off and remove the battery negative cable and allow two minutes until the capacitor in the SRS shuts off. It is important not to hit or drop the side impact sensor, because it might be damaged or its calibration could change; if the sensor is dropped, a replacement is required. Set the front seat closest to you all the way forward and remove the inside B-pillar trim from the lower right or left pillar. Disconnect the body wire harness connector from the side impact sensor connector receptacle, remove the screw holding the sensor in place on the lower B-pillar and pull out the right or left side impact sensor from the B-pillar. The side impact sensor, body wire harness connector and securing screw are all part numbers included.
