2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove an A/C Condenser on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To take out the A/C condenser, start by cutting off and taking away the negative battery cable. Remove the refrigerant from the system it is in. Removing the grille should be next, along with the air filter box and air inlet tube. Check that the hood latch at the radiator crossmember doesn't require removal. Then, get the upper radiator crossmember and bracket out of your way by removing them from the installation area. If a 3.0L diesel engine is installed, you must also remove the charge air cooler. In particular applications, either get rid of the power steering fluid cooler or arrange it in such a way that it won't get in your way. Let the cooler lines from the automatic transmission cooler become disconnected from the transmission fluid cooler and place stoppers or tape over the cooler line fittings and cooler ports. Loose the screw holding the A/C receiver/drier to the radiator and fan shroud, unscrew the discharge line from the A/C condenser and take off the receiver drier inlet tube from the A/C condenser. After that, loosen and remove the four bolts joining the A/C condenser to the radiator, then carefully and straightly pull the A/C condenser away from the engine compartment.
