You should disconnect the battery's negative cable, lift the car with a jack and perform the replacement of both bushings. Screw reflect the wheel mounting nuts and detach the tire and wheel off the axle of each rear axle. As you apply brakes to stop the hub from rotating, remove the hub nut from the half shaft and slide the exhaust system and differential out of place. Slide the half shaft off of each hub and bearing and cut the right rear parking brake cable from the front parking brake cable at the connector. Take out the front parking brake cable from the equalizer and unscrew the bracket attached to the rear crossmember front edge. For cars with standard or premium disc brakes, take out the guide pin bolts, unscrew the brake caliper from the pads and brake adapter and hold the caliper above the car's rear suspension. While using SRT8 disc brakes, use a trim stick to send the pistons back into the caliper's bore, elevate the spring link with a jack and eliminate the caliper bolts. Take the wheel speed sensor connector wires away from the body wiring and unscrew all bolts in the lower mounting plate. Hold the area of the rear crossmember with marks on the frame at all four locations. Next, place two jack stands underneath the forward engine cradle. Set the jack under the center of the rear crossmember, remove the fuel filler tube and loose the bolts holding the crossmember to the car. Take the crossmember to an easy-to-work height, unbolt and remove the coil springs and isolators, then lubricate the bolt threads and use Special Tool 9520 to push the bushing out of the crossmember. Insert the bushing, starting with the tapered head first and press it in using the correct setting up tools. Before lifting the crossmember, place the differential mounting bolts through the bushings and line up the shocks with the spring links' pockets. Set up the mounting bolts in the crossmember, with the rear ones being longer than the front and just tighten them so they stay in place. First, fit the coil springs with isolators, then guide them into the correct place and install the lower shock mounting bolts. Before raising the AWD vehicle's crossmember, put spacers over the bushings on top. Then, repeat the steps on the left, placing the side mounts at the correct places according to the marks. Distance between the tension link and the weld should be at least 12 mm for proper safety. Use a torque wrench to tighten each crossmember hold-down to 180 N.m (133 ft.lbs.), take the jack out and secure the fuel filler tube again. Cable the left rear wheel speed sensor to the routing clip, plug the speed sensor connectors into the wiring harness and place the brake calipers in place while checking that the guide pin bolts do not get crossed. Attach the parking brake cables back to the car, set the axle half shafts in place and fasten the hub nuts on them to 213 N.m (157 ft.lbs.). Mount the install the rear exhaust, reinstall tire and wheel assemblies and then lower everything for the floor. Connect the battery negative cable again, stretch the brake pedal to make sure it's firm and perform a wheel alignment, watching the thrust angle to not block the tension link.
