Before working on the rear knuckle, jack up the vehicle, support it and take off the wheel and tire. Following this, separate the brakes in this order: the rear caliper, the disc brake rotor and the parking brake shoe assembly. Cut the ends of the parking brake cable and take off the Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (2) (WSS) from the caliper. Unhook the halfshaft from the rear hub and, next, take out the fasteners from the dust shield on the rear hub with a hex wrench. After removing the inclined strut and its nuts and bolts, remove the trailing and lateral links, then take the track bar and lower control arm out. Once that's done, take off the knuckle from the vehicle. Look over the bearing assembly (5) carefully and change it if you notice signs of wear or harm. During the installation, keep the rear axle halfshaft horizontal when tightening all nuts and bolts. You should start with installing the knuckle, then attach the trailing link, lateral link and track bar using the correct bolt and nut on each. Fix the lower control arm and the rear disc brake dust shield to the rear hub by tightening bolts. Insert the rear axle halfshaft into the rear hub assembly, follow by reinstalling both the WSS (2) and the parking brake cable. Then, place the parking brake shoe assembly, disc brake rotor and rear disc brake caliper in position with bolts. Once you are done, place the wheel and tire back on and check how the vehicle is aligned.
