How to Service Sway Bar Bushings on the Rear Stabilizer on Chrysler Prowler?

Before you service the sway bar bushings in the rear, first lift the car and take off the 4 bolts and tapping plates from the bushing retainers which are fastened to the frame. Ease the bushing retainers out of the bushings on the sway bar and pry the bushings off the bar with the cut made in the bushing. Before you start the installation, wipe the part of the sway bar where the bushing is situated. After that, put the newly wrapped bushings around the sway bar, being sure the slit is pointing upward. Set the bushings in the right place and install the attached retainers again. After that, attach the bushing retainer bolts and tapping plates, making certain the 4 sway bar bushing bolts are tightened to 30 Nm (265 in. lbs.) and bring the car down.

How to Install Sway Bar Bushing for Rear Suspension on Chrysler PT Cruiser?

The first step is to attach every cushion onto the sway bar so that the front of the vehicle gets the cushion's slit facing out. Then, each sway bar retainer 4 by fixing the two halves with their lower ends joined together. Lay the retainer over the cushion so that the contour matches the shape of the cushion edge and with the slit in the cushion directed toward the retainer's front half. Lay the crimp tab on the front half across the rear half to fasten the bodies. After that, push the lower parts of the cushion retainers 1 into the slots at the back of the axle 2 and turn the opposite ends upwards to allow you to insert the mounting bolts 3. Slide the bolts 3 through the retainer 1 on each cushion, turning them into the threads of the rear axle 2 until they tighten to a torque of 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). The last step is to reduce the height of the vehicle.
