Be sure to first take the battery negative cable away from its post to isolate the battery before removing the rear suspension sway bar kit. First, support the car and then remove the nuts and the wheel and tire from each side of the rear of your vehicle. Then you'll need to remove the rear exhaust system. Mark the alignment index points on the rubber coupler and flange, disconnect the bolts and nuts and let the propeller shaft hang with a bungee cord tied to the fuel tank straps. Unplug the front
Parking Brake Cable from the rear cable at the point on the right. Remove the front parking brake cable from the equalizer and the fastening screw on the bracket, jointed to the rear crossmember front flange. With either standard or premium disc brakes, get rid of the bolts that connect the guide pin inside the
Brake Caliper and then bring the caliper off the
Brake Pads and adapter, raising it up through the suspension and holding it to make sure the hose isn't overstretched. Store SRT8 disc brakes by depressing the
Pistons into the caliper bores with a trim stick and holding the spring link up with a jack to reach the bolts. With those bolts removed, take out the brake caliper and its pads from the knuckle and rotor and hang the assembly somewhere away from the suspension. Pull out the wheel speed sensor connectors from the connector inside the luggage compartment floor pan and free up the left wheel speed sensor cable clip. Locate and label the rear crossmember's position on the body at each mount bolting spot after removing the lower shock absorber bolt and nut on each side of the car. Place jack stands under the engine cradle at the front end and next secure a jack beneath the differential at the rear axle with another jack. Take out the fuel filler tube and afterwards, eliminate the bolts that keep the crossmember fixed. First, move the crossmember just a little so that the propeller shaft can be unbolted from the rear axle differential; then lower it further to access the sway bar kit fasteners. Undo the bolts and nuts joining the sway bar kit to the sway bar link and then remove the bolts joining every sway bar isolator retainer to the crossmember. In the end, unbolt the sway bar kit, remove the retainers from it and the isolators from the retainers, then pull the isolators apart from the sway bar kit using their slits.
