How to Service and Repair a Fuel Pressure Regulator on Dodge Grand Caravan?

Before servicing or repairing the fuel pressure regulator, take off the fuel pump module from the tank. Squeeze the control knobs on the retainer and pull them to take out the retainer, then carefully pry the regulator out so that both O-rings are pulled out as well. When installing, use a thin coat of clean engine oil on the O-rings before putting them into their openings in the pump. Place the regulator into the opening in the pump module and let it snap into place with the housing.

How to Service a Fuel Pressure Regulator on a Fuel Pump Module on Dodge Ram 1500?

You can service the fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator by opening the fuel pump module from the top; there's no need to pull the whole pump out of the car. Make sure the engine's fuel system is vented before starting anything. First, get rid of the fuel in the tank and then lift it from the engine. Take out the fuel filter/regulator by twisting it and pulling up straight inside the rubber grommet. Stop at about three inches above the fuel pump module so you do not damage the coiled fuel tube. Using a knife, carefully cut the old fuel tube clamp, so you don't harm the plastic tube and then take the plastic tube out of the filter/regulator. For installation, attach a new clamp to the plastic fuel tube and set in the filter/regulator, adjusting it until it faces the driver's side of the car. Work cleanly by avoiding ordinary side cutters when tightening the line clamp and rely on special Hose Clamp Pliers number C-4124 or a similar one. Place the rubber grommet over the filter/regulator, correctly towards the driver's side, then put back the fuel tank and inspect for fuel leaks.
