How to service the A/C Switch (heater control) on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Before you begin service, you should first pull off and isolate the battery negative cable. Take out the engine cover in the passenger area and reach under the upper dash panel and over the instrument panel to work your way to the vacuum connector near the left defroster outlet. After that, remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel and remove the three screws connecting the heater-A/C control to it. Retract the heater-A/C control assembly out of the instrument panel to open the back, unplug the wire harness from the back of the assembly and remove the control from the instrument panel. To install the AC Heater Kit, connect the wire harness's connectors to the back of the heater-A/C control, place it in the instrument panel and secure it with the three screws, tightening each to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Put back the cluster bezel, link the two halves of the vacuum harness connector in the passenger compartment, set the engine cover in place and link the battery negative cable.
