Dodge Ram 1500 Van Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the windshield Washer Pump on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?
    A:
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable as your first step to working with the windshield washer motor. After that, unplug the motor connector's terminals from both the headlamp and dash circuit wires. Get rid of the washer supply hose at the barbed side of your pump/motor and allow the fluid inside to collect for reuse after cleaning. Gently remove the barbed nipple of the washer pump from the rubber grommet hypent seal in the reservoir using a trim stick or the suitable tool you have. Don't leave the rubber grommet seal inside the pump mounting hole in the reservoir. New rubber grommet seal should be installed in the hole for the washer pump during installation. Put the barbed inlet nipple from the washer pump into the reservoir's rubber grommet seal and apply firm pressure everywhere until it is seated. Put the washer hose back onto the outlet nipple of the pump and reconnect the dash wire and headlamp connector to the spot where it connects to the motor harness. Pour the washer fluid you set aside back into the washer tank, then link the minus cable of the battery as last.
