- Q: How to Remove the Washer Pump from the Reservoir Without Detaching It on Dodge Ram 2500?A:The windshield washer unit needs to be uninstalled without removing the Washer Reservoir from the car, so first unhook and isolate the battery negative cable. Following that, unlink the washer hose from the barbed outlet of the washer pump/motor unit, so the washer fluid can drained and reused in a clean container. After that, unplug the headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the washer pump/motor unit receptacle on the right. Firmly hold the top of the washer pump/motor housing and pull gently up out of the washer to free the snap post on top of the motor. Pull the pump/motor unit out of the reservoir and once it pulls clear, press the barbed pump inlet nipple free from the seal in the tank. Once you have, take the washer pump/motor from the back of the washer to dispose of the seal in the mounting hole on the reservoir.
- Q: How to Install a Washer Pump for a Gasoline Engine on Dodge Ram 2500?A:To fit the pump for a gasoline engine, set the rubber grommet seal (4) into the Washer Reservoir's (6) pump mounting hole so that a new seal goes in. Sit the barbed inlet nipple of the washer pump against the reservoir's rubber grommet and press all over the nipple to seated it securely. On top of the pump motor housing, place the snap post (2) over the receptacle on the washer reservoir (3) and then press down evenly on the top of the unit until the two parts engage. Reconnect the hose to the reservoir washer from the barbed pump outlet nipple (8) and then put the right headlamp and dash wire harness connector onto the washer pump/motor unit connector receptacle (1). Following installation, add the previously emptied fluid to the reservoir and hook up the negative Battery Cable again.
