Put a bearing cap over the cross end and make sure it's lined up with the yoke bore, then press it into the yoke bore until you can remove the snap ring. Apply the same procedure to put the opposite bearing cap in place. When the yoke is too tight, softly hit the edges of the joint with a hammer to gently seat the needle bearings. It is important to grease the lube fitting, if it is equipped as an option.

Set up the U-joint press assembly and push the receiver onto the propeller shaft yoke. Then, press out the U-joint bearing caps from the shaft yoke. Unscrew the cap from the bottom bearing of the shaft yoke, turn the shaft over and use the press to remove the other cap from the U-joint. After disconnecting the U-joint from the shaft yoke and removing the flange, place U-joint press with receiver over the flange and push on the bearings caps to take them out. Take off the bearing cap on the flange's outside, fit the U-joint press with its receiver around the flange and press the rest of the U-joint bearing cap out; remove the U-joint once you have done this.
