Dodge Viper Brake Pad is an essential part of the vehicle in braking system of the famous Dodge Viper that has been in the market for a long time and is well known due to its reliability and high quality of the manufacturing. Used to rub against the rotating brake rotors, these brake pads play an important role of converting kinetic energy to thermal energy for proper and effective stopping. Being compatible with different models of Viper, the Dodge Brake Pad augments both the productivity and the safety of the model, which puts it among the indispensable components of a car. The build up of these brake pads involves a highly resistant metal base plate with quality friction material to reduce wear and operating sound. This commitment guarantees that the Dodge Viper Brake Pad offers the premier when it comes to the performance and the efforts put in by the drivers during their drive be it on the racing track or on the roads. Any car enthusiast who owns a Viper should ensure that the brake pads are always checked and replaced often as recommended; there are signals within the brake pads that indicate when they need to be replaced. What makes the Dodge Viper Brake Pad unique in the automotive market is its resilience in producing desirable brakes and stopping power in an instant especially for a supercar like the Viper. In general, the Dodge Brake Pad perfectly reflects the company's intent of using new technology without compromising quality, therefore underlining the special place the Viper has as an American sports car.

Dodge Viper Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Remove and Replace Brake Pads on Dodge Viper?
    A:
The first step is to get the vehicle in position so its wheels can be above the ground. Take out the wheel and tire together. Tap the recessed end of the caliper with a hammer and pin punch to push out the lower brake pad support pin. Take out the spring clip from under the upper pin still inside the caliper. Repeat the process you used for removing the bottom support pin, but take out the upper support pin with the pin punch and hammer. When pushing back the Pistons, if your hand doesn't have enough strength, use a suitable soft stick to prevent the rotor and pad braking surface from becoming damaged. Should it be required, have a trim stick between the inboard brake pad and the rotor edge, while pushing the inboard piston until it is fully down in its bore, leaving the trim stick in position. You should also rinse the outboard brake pad and pistons using a dispenser. Open the caliper, then remove the inboard pad and finally take out the outboard pad. When the brake pads are removed, check every caliper piston and dust boot for signs of brake fluid leaking and make sure there are no cuts, tears or heat cracks in them. Check the brake pad supports as well for any serious wear or damage. A failed caliper inspection calls for a replacement of the unit.
  • Q: How to Install a Brake Pad for the Parking Brake on Dodge Viper?
    A:
The first step to installing a parking brake pad is to remove the brake pads. If the piston isn't fully into its bore, stick the handle from the Piston Retractor 6366 into the two holes at the top of the piston and rotate it clockwise to retract it. After that, install the parking brake pads into the caliper so the inboard and outboard shoes are exactly the same. Put the anti-rattle spring in place, then pass retaining pin 1 through the spring and through the holes in pads 2. Keep using the drift punch to install the retaining pin in the caliper until the snap ring on its end sits all the way in and then install hair pin 3 into the brake pads retaining pin. Mount parking Brake Caliper 3 on knuckle 1 and hold it in place with brake caliper mounting bolts, tightening bolt 5 to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) and bolt 4 to 52 Nm (38 ft. lbs.). After that, put on the wheel and tire assembly, tightening each mounting nut gradually following the proper order to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Drop the lift floor so the wheels reach the floor, cycle the parking brake, pull the parking brake lever completely and then take off any blocks on the tires.
