How to Remove and Install a Wheel Hub Assembly on Dodge Avenger?

Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands and remove the wheels. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor. On AWD models, loosen the hub nut and free the driveaxle splines from the hub. Remove the brake disc and parking brake cable bracket fasteners. Remove the bolts retaining the hub/bearing assembly to the rear knuckle (Rear hub and bearing assembly mounting bolts (2014 and earlier model shown, 2015 and later model similar)). Remove the hub/bearing assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the hub/bearing mounting bolts. Tighten the caliper mounting bracket bolts. Install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts.

How to Properly Remove and Install a Wheel Hub and Drive Axle Assembly on Dodge Challenger?

Loosen the driveaxle/hub nut. Next, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands placed under the frame rails before removing the wheel. Proceed to remove the brake caliper and disc, along with the wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle. Remove the hub mounting bolts from the back of the steering knuckle enough to release the hub assembly, ensuring the hub bolts remain in the knuckle to support the brake backing plate while being cautious not to overextend the inner CV joint. After removing the hub, support the outer end of the driveaxle with a length of wire or rope. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut and push the driveaxle through the hub splines as the hub and bearing assembly is taken out; if the driveaxle is stuck, use a puller for removal. For installation, reverse the removal steps while ensuring to tighten the hub mounting bolts, brake caliper mounting bracket bolts, caliper mounting bolts, wheel speed sensor bolt, driveaxle/hub nut, and wheel lug nuts to the specified torque.
