Remove the HVAC housing assembly from your unit and place it on a level work bench. Unhook the air distribution housing from the HVAC housing after that. Remove the A/C expansion valve from the A/C evaporator as the next step. Should the foam seal on the flange be damaged or out of shape, you must change it. Next, pull the foam seal out of the flange on the top part of the HVAC housing. With that done, use a screwdriver to take out the four screws that hold the flange, then get rid of the flange. Any damage or deformation to the evaporator's foam insulator means it needs replacement. After that, pull out the A/C evaporator and its insulator from inside the HVAC unit.
