Always make sure the refrigerant oil is properly adjusted in the A/C refrigerant system to keep the compressor safe. A removal of the A/C receiver/drier is required following an internal failure of the A/C compressor, to stop any major damage to the new compressor. Check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart when you're replacing several A/C parts to make sure you use the right amount of oil. If you simply change the A/C condenser, use 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of the recommended oil for the refrigerant. Repairers must always fit new rubber O-ring seals and metal gaskets into refrigerant lines when they perform any work. Ensure that the air seals around your radiator and condenser are set properly for highest cooling performance. The first part of installation is to mount the A/C receiver/drier (7) onto the right side of the A/C condenser (1). Place the transmission cooler line adapter (5) at the bottom of the left side of the automatic transmission fluid cooler (6), along with two new O-rings and attach it with bolt (4). For manual transaxles, push the top of the radiator backward to make room for the refrigerant line tapping block (2), place the A/C condenser in front, put the radiator back into place and fasten the two bolts on the upper support. Put the A/C condenser before the radiator on the workbench and fasten it in five clear spots (3 to 5) using bolts tightened to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). Should the car have an automatic transmission, fit the radiator and A/C condenser as a single unit. After that, attach the upper radiator grille and grille housing. Take off old plugs or tape from the fridge's fittings and condenser ports, oil the new sealing rubber O-rings and place them along with the new gaskets. Screw the A/C discharge line (2) to the A/C condenser (1) on the left side, followed by the A/C liquid line (4) and then tighten the retaining nuts (3 and 5) to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.), connecting them as well. On 2.8L models, plug the air intake hose into the throttle body, fix the coolant recovery container and reconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the refrigerant from your system and if new parts are needed, add 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces). Add fridge gas to the system and check and put automatic transmission fluid in automatic gearboxes as needed.
