2002 Jeep Wrangler A/C Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Switch on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: If the car has air bags, begin by disconnecting the battery negative cable and waiting two minutes before you service the control assembly. Pull the glove box away from the instrument panel first, then remove the center bezel too. Disconnect the two halves of the heater-A/C vacuum harness by reaching for the connector inside the glove box. After that, remove the four screws holding the heater-A/C control to the panel and pull it out to reach the wires on the rear. Release the three wire harnesses from the heater-A/C control unit and take out the control panel from your instrument cluster. To set up the unit, reconnect the three wire harnesses to the control, put it into the instrument panel, fasten it with screws and tighten all four screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Connect the two cut ends of the heater-A/C vacuum harness connector while the glove box is open, put on the glove box and lastly install the center bezel. After that, put the negative battery cable back.
