2004 Dodge Durango Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Blend Door Actuator on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step in working on an air door actuator/motor is to remove and separate the negative battery cable. After that, take out the instrument panel assembly. Next, remove those four screws holding the blend door actuator to the top of the HVAC housing and cut the HVAC wire harness connector from the actuator. Once you have the blend door, pull the actuator out from the HVAC housing. Install the blend door actuator on top of the HVAC housing, so that the actuator output shaft matches the position of the blend-air door linkage. Use 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) of tightness as you secure the screws, making sure they hold the actuator in its place in the HVAC housing. Secure the wire harness connector for the HVAC to the blend door actuator and put back the instrument panel assembly. After that, put the negative battery cable back where it belonged. Operating the DRM lll is essential for the heater-A/C control calibration procedure.
