2005 Chrysler Pacifica Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Speed Sensor on the Front Wheel on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Open and take out the front brake rotor when servicing the front wheel speed sensor. Take off the vehicle wiring harness from where it joins up with the wheel speed sensor. Take the wheel speed sensor connector off the frame rail reinforcement, open the routing clip and remove the cable. Unscrew the screw connecting the routing bracket bracket for the wheel speed sensor to the strut on the steering assembly. At the knuckle, open the routing clip and take out the wheel speed sensor cable. Always wipe the area around the sensor head to stop contaminated particles from getting into the bearing. Undo the screw at the speed sensor head that attaches it to the hub and bearing and pull out the wheel speed sensor. Just before installation, apply the bearing grease supplied with the part to the sensor head shaft and O-ring. Make sure the part's mounting area on the bearing is tidy. Make sure the mounting position and screw hole exactly line up, then put in a new screw, tighten it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque. Put the wheel speed sensor cable grommet into the orange routing clip and close the clip. Put the advertising wheel speed sensor routing bracket on the strut assembly and tighten the screw until it reaches 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.) torque. Attach the wheel speed sensor connector and routing clip to the outer reinforcement under the frame rail. After that, connect the vehicle wiring harness to the wheel speed sensor connector. In the end, set in place the brake rotor and all things needed to repair it, confirm that the wheel speed sensor cable does not come in contact with the spinning brake parts and see if the ABS comes on properly in normal driving.
