  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Booster on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Remove the master cylinder (4) and once it's out disconnect the vacuum line (6) from the booster. Then, free the clip (1) fastening the booster push rod (3) to the brake pedal and remove the nuts (4) found on the booster mounting studs. Then, separate the front cowl's booster (3), spacer and gaskets from the panel. For the installation, set up the spacer and gaskets on the booster studs, insert the booster studs (4) into the holes in the cowl panel and set the booster (3) onto the panel. Connect the booster to the braking system with four attaching nuts (4) at a tightness of 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.) and then put the push rod (3) on the brake pedal to secure it with clip (1). Link the vacuum hose with the check valve (6) and add the master cylinder (4) to the assembly. Finally, perform a fill and bleed of your brakes.
