2006 Chrysler Pacifica A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator in a Refrigerant System on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: First, take out the refrigerant from the refrigerant system and lift off the air cleaner housing so you can service the A/C accumulator. After that, undo the bolts joining the A/C liquid line at the front and back to the A/C accumulator and cut off the A/C liquid lines, throwing away the O-ring seals. Plug or tape the liquid line fittings and A/C accumulator ports when open and then unscrew the nuts that hold the A/C accumulator to the right strut tower; remove the A/C accumulator. If you change the A/C accumulator, add 30 milliliters of the right refrigerant oil to the fridge. Place the new A/C accumulator on top of the weld studs on the right side of the strut tower. Put two nuts on it and tighten them to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.). Work the tape or plugs out of the liquid line fittings and the A/C accumulator connector, lubricate the new O-ring with oil and snugly fit the seals over the liquid line fittings. Fit the front and rear sections of the A/C liquid line into the A/C accumulator, join both ends with bolts and tighten them until the torque indicator shows 11 N.m (100 in. lbs.). You should then install the air cleaner housing, remove all of the refrigerant and refill it.
